The 2017 Nissan Titan XD is offered with two engine options. The first, hefty enough for most, is a 5.6-liter V8. This engine features direct injection and boasts 390 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Alternatively, there's a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8 engine. This engine brings the horsepower down to 310 but ramps up the torque to 555 pound-feet. This engine is linked up to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Titan XD offers a compliant ride and many drivers will find its handling pleasant and agreeable. The Titan XD can be had its standard rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive. The towing capacity of the Nissan Titan XD ranges from 9,800 pounds up to 12,640 pounds.

Design of Nissan Titan XD

The Nissan Titan XD is a cross between light- and heavy-duty trucks. There are five trim levels for the Titan XD: S, SV, Pro-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve. There are two configurations: a crew-cab with a 6.5-foot bed and seating for five or six and a regular-cab with an 8-foot bed and three seats. Standard features found in the base S level include air-conditioning, Bluetooth, a lockable tailgate, cruise control, a 5-inch display, cloth and vinyl upholstery, a bench front seat, power windows, and 60/40-split folding rear seats. The SV has feature highlights such as Siri Eyes Free, NissanConnect, carpeted floors, an overhead console, chrome exterior trim, satellite radio, and cloth upholstery. The Pro-4X, an off-road-oriented trim, offers 18-inch alloy wheels complete with all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, a receiver hitch with a 4/7-pin wiring harness connector, a two-speed transfer case, a spray-in bedliner, a lockable rear differential, hill descent control, keyless entry and ignition, dual front captain's chairs, a rearview camera, unique cloth upholstery, a 7-inch display with navigation and blind-spot monitoring, and more. SL models include 20-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, remote ignition, parking sensors, a premium audio system, and a cargo-management rail system. Finally, the Platinum Reserve trim receives a heated steering wheel, cooled front seats, a trailer brake controller, extra chrome trim, a surround-view camera system, and premium leather upholstery.
